BRR (Business Responsibility Report)
ESG & GovernanceSEBI's earlier, shorter ESG report for listed companies, replaced by the BRSR.
SEBI required the top 100 listed companies by market capitalisation to file a BRR from 2012, extended to the top 500 in 2015 and the top 1,000 from FY 2019-20. The BRR was mostly descriptive, with few standard numbers. SEBI introduced the more detailed BRSR in May 2021, voluntary for FY 2021-22 and mandatory for the top 1,000 from FY 2022-23.
