Gig and platform worker
ESG & GovernanceA person who earns from short tasks outside a traditional employment relationship, often through a digital platform such as a delivery or ride-hailing app.
India's Code on Social Security brings gig and platform workers under social security, with aggregators asked to contribute 1% to 2% of annual turnover, capped at 5% of payments to platform workers.
