Green InvIT
ESG & GovernanceAn infrastructure investment trust that owns renewable energy or other green infrastructure assets and pays out most of their cash flows to unitholders.
InvITs are regulated by SEBI and let investors own a share of operating infrastructure, such as solar and wind farms or transmission lines. "Green InvIT" is a market description, not a separate SEBI category. When analysing one, look at the asset mix, the length and quality of power purchase agreements, debt levels and any green bonds the trust has issued.
