    The risk to a business from the loss of plant and animal species and the ecosystems they form.

    Biodiversity loss can reduce the natural services businesses depend on, such as pollination, clean water and flood protection, and can bring new rules, litigation or customer pressure for companies that cause it. It is site-specific and often slow to build. The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework of 2022 asks large companies to assess and disclose their risks, dependencies and impacts.
