Climate positive
ESG & GovernanceA claim that a company removes or offsets more greenhouse gases than it emits.
Climate positive (sometimes called carbon negative) goes one step beyond net zero: the company claims to take more carbon out of the atmosphere than it puts in. These claims usually depend heavily on offsets or removal credits, whose quality varies. India's CCPA greenwashing guidelines name "climate-positive" among the claims that need statutory or independent third-party verification. Treat such claims with extra care.
