ESG & GovernanceA firm that collects, cleans, estimates and sells ESG data on companies, often alongside ESG ratings.
Global providers include MSCI, Morningstar Sustainalytics, S&P Global, LSEG, Bloomberg, ISS and Moody's. They gather company disclosures such as the BRSR, regulatory and news data, and their own estimates for missing figures. Each provider handles data differently, which is one cause of rating divergence. Check whether a figure is reported by the company or estimated by the provider.
