EU Green Bond Standard (EuGB)
ESG & GovernanceA voluntary EU label, applying from 21 December 2024, for green bonds that put at least 85% of their proceeds into EU Taxonomy-aligned activities.
The EuGB is stricter than most market labels. Besides the 85% taxonomy alignment rule, it requires a set format of disclosures and a review by an external reviewer that is registered and supervised in the EU. Where the issuer has a transition plan, it must explain how the bond supports it. Indian issuers selling green bonds to European investors may be compared against this standard.
