Use of proceeds
ESG & GovernanceThe rule that the money raised from a labelled bond or loan must go only to eligible projects described in its framework.
Use of proceeds is the first core component of ICMA's Green and Social Bond Principles. It applies to green, social, sustainability, blue and transition bonds, but not to sustainability-linked bonds. Because money is fungible, use of proceeds is about matching an equal amount of spending to eligible projects, not tracing each rupee. Check the share of refinancing of old projects in the allocation report.
