BSE 100 ESG Index
ESG & GovernanceAn ESG version of the BSE 100, first launched as the S&P BSE 100 ESG Index, that excludes certain businesses and UN Global Compact violators.
Rule changes from June 2022 added exclusions for thermal coal, oil sands, small arms and military contracting, tightened tobacco and controversial weapons rules, and removed companies rated non-compliant with the UN Global Compact. Members are checked every quarter. BSE has owned the index provider, Asia Index, outright since buying S&P Dow Jones Indices' stake in May 2024.
