GHG emission intensity (GEI) target
ESG & GovernanceA plant-specific target for greenhouse gas emissions per unit of output, set under India's CCTS.
GEI targets are notified by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, plant by plant, in tonnes of CO2 equivalent per tonne of equivalent product. They use FY 2023-24 as the baseline and tighten over the compliance years. Reported cuts are about 1% to 3% for FY 2025-26 and 2% to 8% for FY 2026-27, depending on the plant. Plant-level targets are published in the government notifications.
