Carbon footprint
ESG & GovernanceThe total greenhouse gas emissions caused by a company, product, activity or person, expressed in CO2e.
For a company, the full carbon footprint is Scope 1, 2 and 3 combined. For a product, it covers emissions across its life cycle, from raw materials to disposal. The term is used loosely: many "footprints" in company reports cover only Scope 1 and 2. Always check which scopes and boundaries are included.
