Carbon intensity
ESG & GovernanceGreenhouse gas emissions per unit of revenue or output, used to compare companies of different sizes.
Revenue intensity divides emissions by revenue, for example tCO2e per ₹ crore of turnover. It allows comparison across sectors but moves with prices and inflation. Physical intensity divides emissions by output, such as tonnes of cement, and is the better measure within a sector. BRSR Core asks for intensity per rupee of turnover adjusted for purchasing power parity. See the Carbon Intensity formula.
