Circular economy
ESG & GovernanceAn economic model that keeps products and materials in use for as long as possible through reuse, repair, recycling and better design.
It contrasts with the "take, make, dispose" model. For companies, circularity can cut raw material costs, waste costs and Extended Producer Responsibility costs. "Embracing circularity" is one of the nine BRSR Core attributes, measured through waste generated, recovered and disposed of. The EU Taxonomy treats transition to a circular economy as one of its six objectives.
