Gender diversity ratio
Formula
Gender diversity ratio
Gender Diversity Ratio (%) = Number of women ÷ Total headcount × 100
Variables
| Number of women | Women in the group being measured, such as the board, key managerial personnel, permanent employees or workers |
| Total headcount | Everyone in the same group |
Finding the inputs
The BRSR workforce table in Section A gives headcount by gender for employees and workers, permanent and other than permanent, and for the board and key managerial personnel.
Reading the number
Calculate it at each level, not just overall. A company with 30% women overall but very few in senior roles has a pipeline problem. Compare it with women's share of total wages, a BRSR Core indicator: if the wage share is much lower than the headcount share, women are concentrated in lower-paid roles.
